Description

This classic American Duchess 18th century style is now available in wide!

Pompadour Leather 18th Century Shoes are the picture-perfect footwear for your exquisite Baroque and Rococo costumes.

Named for the famous Madame de Pompadour, these heels are closely based on extant early 18th century shoes found in museums, and feature an easy tabbed closure that can be laced with your favorite colored ribbon, cockade, or pom-pom decoration.

Accurate for the 1680s all the way through the 1760s, the Pompadours feature an all-leather construction, our reproduction Louis heels, pointed toes, and the characteristic white rand seen on original 18th century shoes. Wear them for any and all early 18th c. impressions.

Great style, bad heel support

They were great shoes style-wise, I would have loved to wear them. However the backside of the shoes where my heel is was way too short and made my foot bend over because of lack of support for my feet. Due to that they were completely un-wearable which is why I have to rate them so low.

We're always happy to assist with fitting issues if you email us at info@americanduchess.com. Although, we admit we're a bit mystified as to the issue here, as the heel cup of the Pompadour comes up fairly high - any higher and it would either cut into most folk's ankle bone uncomfortably, or it would need to be made taller than the ankle and would be a short boot instead of a pump!

Beautiful but did not match my feet, felt narrow despite the wide model.
